Frequently Asked Questions

Are you accepting new patients? How can I become a patient at your clinic?

We are always accepting new patients! We will begin by asking you to complete a medical and dental history form. We will take any necessary x-rays and complete an assessment of your current dental condition. Should you need any treatment, we will make a prioritized list and discuss treatment options. For your first dental visit, please expect to be with us for approximately 1-2 hours. To book your first appointment, call or contact us today.

Is dental treatment covered under Quebec’s Health Care plan?

No, dental treatment is not covered under Medicare. We do accept private insurance at our clinic, otherwise payment is taken in full at the appointment.

Can you see what my dental insurance covers?

Unfortunately we do not know what your personal dental insurance covers. However, we will gladly help and guide you in finding out what your plan covers.

Do you have financial plans for your patients?

Yes we do offer financial plans. They are helpful in accommodating you with regards to preferred length of payment term, and amount you need covered. Please do not hesitate to ask our kind staff for further information.

Are X-rays necessary and are they safe?

X-rays are quick, painless and safe. They are a necessary tool in dental care as they can show cavities, bone loss, infections, wisdom teeth and and other problems that wouldn’t be visible otherwise. No radiation remains in the body once the x-ray has been taken.

How can I have a whiter smile?

Brushing and flossing regularly, as well as coming for your regular cleaning and scaling, will help remove stains and bacteria. At the Des Cèdres Dental Centre, we also offer in-office whitening and take-home whitening trays. Please call us for a consultation to see which is the best option for you. Keep in mind coffee, tea, red wine, juice and soda all cause staining. Try drinking these beverages out of a straw to avoid new stains.

I want a straighter smile, but I don’t want to get braces. What are my options?

We would definitely have to assess your situation in person, as it depends on how many or which teeth are the problem areas. Our clinic does offer Invisalign treatment, which is orthodontic treatment done with clear trays. Please call us to have a consultation today.

These were some of the most frequently asked questions patients have about dentistry and oral health issues. If you have any other questions or would like to schedule an appointment, we would love to hear from you.
